When the lights go down, the fun begins. Every Thursday night from 6:00pm to 10:00pm, the California Academy of Sciences is transformed into a lively venue filled with music, provocative science, mingling and cocktails for visitors 21 and older.

The Academy is the only place on the planet to combine an aquarium, planetarium, natural history museum and four story rainforest under a 2.5 acre living roof.

Your NightLife VIP Tour includes:

Express entry into the building.

An open bar in a reserved cocktail area prior to the tour.

A one-hour behind-the-scenes tour with a private viewing of some of the Academy's renowned gem and mineral collection, and interaction with Academy researchers.

VIP access to the four story Rainforests of the World exhibit.

A reserved pass for the 8:30pm Planetarium show.

Entry into NightLife.

After the tour guests also get to explore the museum and all of its exhibits, enjoy world-class music, programs, and activities. Food and additional cocktails are available for purchase at this time.

Your ticket grants you express entry into the Academy, where you will meet at the VIP CHECK-IN desk inside the Main Lobby to receive your all access badge and further instructions.

The Details:

NightLife VIP Tour Program begins promptly at 6:00pm and starts on time without exception.

Minimum Age 21+

Valid picture ID required (your ID will be checked to gain entry to NightLife)

NightLife VIP Tour tickets are date specific, and cannot be transferred once purchased.

Main floor activities and performers change from week to week.

Please Note outside beverages are not allowed into the museum during NightLife.

The Rainforest of the World exhibit is only open until 8 pm. The animals need the cycle of day and night to mimic their natural environment to stay healthy.

Parking can be very difficult on busy days. We strongly encourage public transportation or drop-off. Please allow plenty of extra time for traffic, parking, and arrival.

Please note: Reserved seating to lectures is not included and elements of the tour may change without notice.

    Founded in 1900 by a group of private citizens as the Art Museum of Toronto, the Art Gallery of Ontario is one of the largest art museums in North America, with a physical facility of 583,000 square feet. The AGO expanded it facility in 2008 with an innovative architectural design by world-renowned architect Frank Gehry.

    Collection
    The AGO holds more than 79,000 works in its collection, which spans from 100 A.D. to the present.

    Highlights include:
    The Canadian collection vividly documents the development of the nation's art heritage since pre-Confederation, including one of the largest and finest Inuit art collections in the world.

    The collection includes pivotal works by Cornelius Krieghoff, Lucius O'Brien, James Wilson Morrice, Tom Thomson, the Group of Seven, David Milne, Emily Carr, Paul-Emile Borduas, Joyce Wieland, and Kenojuak Ashevak.
